A three-day training activity focusing on AI-enhanced biodiversity assessment, maritime surveillance, and beyond. The school will combine lectures, practical sessions, and field based activities, while also supporting the development of presentation and scientific communication skills among participants. It is expected to involve primarily MSc and PhD students, as well as early career researchers from diverse disciplinary backgrounds (e.g. marine science, AI, data science).
AI4OCEAN International Scientific Conference
A two-day event bringing together participants from the international scientific community. The conference will feature peer-reviewed scientific works presented in thematic sessions, as well as discussions focused on the application of artificial intelligence to marine and maritime challenges.
The programme will cover recent developments in data-driven ocean observation, marine biodiversity monitoring, coastal and environmental monitoring, maritime surveillance, multi sensor data integration, AI-based modelling approaches, digital twins of the ocean, and open access data sets and benchmarks.
The conference will showcase research conducted in Cyprus and internationally, while strengthening CMMI’s scientific profile through the organisation of an international scientific event.
International Workshop of EU-funded ‘Blue’ AI projects (I-WEBAP)
A dedicated international workshop bringing together EU-funded projects working on artificial intelligence applications in marine and maritime domains. The workshop will foster exchange of knowledge, identification of synergies, and collaboration across related initiatives, with the ambition of establishing it as a recurring biannual event. It is expected to involve representatives from EU-funded projects, researchers, and innovation actors working at the intersection of AI and the blue economy.
