AI4OCEAN 2027

International Scientific Conference & Winter School

From Sky to Seafloor Observation to AI-Driven Intelligence

Welcome to AI4OCEAN 2027

Welcome to AI4OCEAN 2027 which represents the flagship concluding initiative of the AXOLOTL project, bringing together a high-level international scientific conference, a targeted winter school, and a dedicated EU projects coordination workshop (I-WEBAP) into a coherent programme hosted in Cyprus, Larnaca district.

Positioned at the intersection of artificial intelligence and the marine and maritime domains, the programme will convene leading scientists, emerging researchers, European project consortia, and institutional stakeholders to showcase cutting-edge scientific advances in AI-driven marine and maritime applications.

Strategic Context and Positioning

AXOLOTL advances the application of artificial intelligence to marine biodiversity monitoring and maritime surveillance, contributing to next-generation approaches in ocean observation.

The event aligns with Horizon Europe priorities, the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030”, the European Green Deal, and the UN Decade of Ocean Science.

Vision and Objectives

  • Establish a high-level scientific forum
  • Advance AI-driven marine and maritime applications
  • Strengthen international scientific networks
  • Bridge science, policy, and innovation
  • Ensure legacy beyond AXOLOTL
